out the form.
Once you have filled out the form:
1. Visit the MAP
and click on the COUNTRY you live in.
2. Click on the STATE where you live.
3. If there are people in your state that are listed as able
to adopt, click on their Adoption Canter Details page to view
information such as their experience, whether they have an isolation
tank, whether they will be able to help pay with the postage,
etc.
4. If you would like to adopt your hermit crabs to them, simply
email the potential adopters and find out if they are interested
or able to adopt at this time, and arrange a delivery of the
hermit crabs if all goes well.
5. If there is a successful adoption,
email the Adoption Center and we will remove your hermit
crabs from the adoptees list, and place a notice on the Adoptees

WHAT
HAPPENS NEXT?
The hermit crabs
that are listed for adoption will show up BOTH on the 'available
to adopt' page of The Crab Street Journal AND on the State pages
at http://www.crabstreetjournal.com/map
John decides
to adopt out his 4 hermit crabs: itsy, bitsy, teenie and
tot.
He lives in Nebraska, USA and would like people within his
own state
to adopt the hermit crabs. He has filled out the form and
the information
about the hermit crabs has been added to the 'adoptees to
adopt' page, as
well as the Nebraska State page.
The Adoption Canter
team then email the members who have listings on the Nebraska
page, giving them first preference since they are
signed up as adopters. If they are not interested or able to
adopt, then messages are sent out to the various message boards
announcing that hermit crabs are up for adoption in the State
of Nebraska, along with the details.
Sometimes, however,
there are private adoptions. When filling out the adoptees
form, there is a checkbox that says 'private' and
the people adopting out their hermit crabs do not wish the Adoption
Center to give out their email address or Town details.
If you are interested
in an adoption that has been marked private, you will need to
either add your details to
your State page or email
with your interest, and we (the Adoption Center team) will
contact the party who is adopting out the hermit crabs. If the
adoption is successful, the message on the adoptees page and
State pages are removed, and a 'successful adoption' message
is placed on the Adoptions main page if we are informed.
Go
to http://www.crabstreetjournal.com/map and click on your
Country and State. If you need any more information, why not
email adoptioncentre@crabstreetjournal.com
and hopefully we can help. Until then, please do add your adoption
center details, profiles and favourite pet store details to
the map, as you have more chance of adopting hermit crabs if
people can learn a little more about you and feel comfortable
putting their little adoptees into your happy crabitat. It is
also a wonderful way to get to know others within your state,
and perhaps help others with the information you needed when
you first started crabbing. It all starts with you.
Hope
this has helped!
